All, If you use pollster you can use the 2.4 version as it is then updating the status properly. I Don’t know when ill have time to code the smart app.
Ok guys, I am no longer getting responses from the support on the Thinking Cleaner site, and think we may be at the end of support life for this product. So disappointing…
If true, this is very disappointing.
Yep. They’re done
Thank you for everything you have done for this module, hopefully they’ll continue running as much as possible directly.
I tried to reach out again as I am having issues with the device loosing connectivity after power on Roomba dies. Although the servers are up, they are no longer responding to emails. Unfortunately this will be the end of a great device, and the end of supported development for this DTH and Smart app…
That sucks, it would be nice if we could host the backend stuff to bring it back alive…
Sad to see this go. Thinking Cleaner brought me to ST.
If anyone is looking to keep this alive I have a used 500/600 thinking cleaner module for sale. $40
Ive been having issues with mine, and the lack of any response from Thinking Cleaner means support is now ended and who knows when the servers will go offline… Very disappointing as I loved this integration. Next possible purchase may be Samsung power bot for the integration.
Hi,
First of all, sorry for my english. Secondly, I’m a beginner so more information than the ones below can not provide.
I have a Roomba 531, and two Broadlinks (one Mini and one Pro). At least Roomba 500 and probably 600/700(from what information I have found) can be controlled by IR. So in order to get started and to be sent to the Dock you can send these commands from ST.
How to send these commands from ST through Broadlink read the following information:
From the mobile e-control application where I found the Roomba remote, I have send the IR signal trough Broadlink Mini, and I have saved it in Broadlink Pro, then I saved it in ST. With a switch in ST comand ON, sends the IR command to Clean, and with OFF send the Roomba to Dock. All this with RM Bridge(I have a tablet used as dashboard/smarttiles at the entrance in the house and I use it for RM bridge to)
For me it is enough, I can do the routine to start the cleaning, and if I want to stop the cleaning I send it to the charger. If the battery is low, the roomba return anyway.
Maybe for some of you, it’s enough to, with 20$ and an old android phone you can integrate the Roomba in your home automation.
Greetings.
Been having trouble with mine now too. It lost wifi connectivity and now will not allow me to reset it. Really too bad, because it worked pretty well. Thanks for your hard work keeping the integration alive as long as you did!
Sometimes if it loses connectivity I have to pull the battery for 10 minutes and then reconnect. If I just reconnect without pulling the battery it continues to loose wifi connectivity…
Thanks for the tip! Losing connectivity happened before and I was able to just reset it. For some reason it is stubborn this time.
I pulled the housing off before I left for work today so that should have the same effect as pulling the battery. Hope it works so I can limp along until I decide on what I will be getting to replace it.
I was actually looking into a Neatmo Connected vacuum as it also has Smartthings integration already.

My LED is currently flashing orange instead of green. But Alexa and Smartthings is still able to control it. The ThinkingCleaner dashboard is not connecting.
It looks like https://thinkingsync.com/mydevices is not operational.
I guess I’ll keep an eye on it. The current schedule is still working, so I haven’t used the TC Dashboard in some time.
My next HA project may be to control the scheduling in ST instead of relying on the TC Dashboard and possibly make it smart enough to avoid running during any scheduled meetings in my calendar.
Tempting! The price is right too.
I’ve got a small investment in spare Roomba parts that makes me wish there was a supported way to use one of the wifi versions. I know there’s been good luck with the Roomba 980 but I don’t want a kludge anymore! I have also considered just using a Roomba 690 with IFTTT integration.
I’m definitely torn and I’m not spending $800+ on any vacuum.
That’s what mine is doing. If you reboot, it will loose connectivity and go back into the configuration mode.
I still have ST/Alexa control but the schedule didn’t run this morning.
Anyone know any of the delveopers of ThinkingCleaner itself? I run a small web hosting company and maybe could keep their API running if they’re willing?
If not I could soon spin up an Azure of AWS instance to keep it going
Update: I’ve contact Abraham from the technical contact on their domain WHOIS, but if anyone has any form of contact with them, could you let me know…
The individual I was working with when I extended the DTH is no longer responding.
Hey Patrick, was that person Matthijs?
The main Thinking Cleaner domain still seems to be up. It would be nice if we could take over the code on the module itself as well, I think it’s some sort of Texas Instruments WiFi chip, similar vein to an ESP8266 but TI’s version.
