[DEPRECATED] Free Ecobee Suite, version 1.3.*

In the Ecobee Suite manager it says 1.4.17 and on the My Ecobee device it says 1.4.08.

OK, I just noticed something in my ST app. I had added my Ecobee thermostat when it was installed before I found this Suite. So it was in my ST Things as My Ecobee. After I installed Ecobee Suite 1.4 I am noticing a new Thing called EcobeeTherm: My ecobee. This one seems to be working correctly. Except I canā€™t change any Preferences in the Ecobee Suite Manager. Any ideas on this problem? Also, when I am setting up Ecobee Suite Manager and I select the Thermostat, it only has my original My Ecobee thing as an option. Is this correct or should there be an option for EcobeeTherm: My ecobee? Can I delete the original My Ecobee thing? Also when adding it to WebCore and Alexa, should I be selecting the EcobeeTherm: My ecobee thing?

I suggest that you completely remove EVERYTHING related to Ecobee. You may find it difficult to remove the ā€œMy ecobeeā€ device, since (apparently) its parent has been deleted. I would also suggest removing ALL ecobee-related SmartApps and DTHs from your IDE - everything EXCEPT the files in the ā€œsandoodā€ namespace.

Then start over from scratch, running My Ecobee Manager to connect to the Ecobee Cloud, and then to add the one ecobee thermostat.

In the end, you should haveonly the Ecobee Suite Thermostat device, which will have a name like ā€œEcoTherm: My ecobeeā€ (you can change its SmartThings name through the config page)

Then yes, you should select this ā€œEcoTherm:ā€ device for Alexa and WebCoRE integration.

OK, I have deleted everything and re added it all back in. Seems to be working now except I still canā€™t get into the Preferences settings. I am using iOS app.

Awesome! We are making progressā€¦

I know this can be frustrating, especially after youā€™ve gone through the complex installation.

Could you please turn on Live Logging and monitor your Ecobee Suite Manager while you press the arr to the right of ā€œEcobee Suite Preferencesā€? There must be some sort of error there, but I canā€™t reproduce it.

Thanks, and not to worry, we will get you runningā€¦

This is what is showing in the Live Logging for the Ecobee Suite Preferences:

Doesnā€™t seem to do anything when I click on the ā€œ>ā€ or anywhere on the Preferences.

Try logging out of the mobile SmartThings app, then remove it from memory on your device (double-click to list of apps, then drag the SmartThings app upwards quickly). Then restart the SmartThings app and login again - then back to Automations/Ecobee Suite Manager and see if you can open preferences againā€¦

Did that and still the same thing. Also no error in the Live Logging. It is just the Ecobee Suite Preferences. Everything else will open to the settings.

I got the DTHā€™s and smart apps installed in IDE when I go to finish in the mobile app I get this. I am sure I have overlooked something but am unable to locate it. any help would be great thx!

  1. This version and thread is deprecated - please utilize the latest thread here: [RELEASE] Updated Ecobee Suite, v1.4.0 (Free)
  2. Best bet is to go into the IDE, and search for any (hidden) ā€œecobeeā€ devices, and delete them using the IDE. These could be children from a failed prior install that you canā€™t see except within the IDE.
