Midea’s new line of Connected appliances offers excellent value in my country, with over 80 devices. Unfortunately, they don’t offer direct connectivity to ST. So, is there a way to do this? Is there a plugin for connecting Midea devices that use the SmartHome (MS) app to ST?
Certain models such as Midea MAP10HS1XWT offer Matter compatibility.
I have the Midea MPPFP1 Portable A/C which supports Google, Alexa and IFTTT.
It also comes with a remote control so it may be possible to use an IR Blaster such as the Aqara M3 Hub which is also matter compatible.
I have a Starling Hub so can control my ac in Homekit as well.
We can only hope that a firmware update gives us Matter compatibility. 
That won’t happen. The A/Cs that don`t support it out of the factory can’t become Matter compatible later. So sad, because my models talk to Google Home just fine, but not to ST 
It’s unfortunate, especially when we know that each region has different rules for ST users.
