CentraLite Keypads

If SHM is trigger when a door is open somewhere there is that contact selected. Time to go poking around. I have all my devices removed from SHM and it now only shows status.

I may be misunderstanding how you have your system set up… I know you said you’re using SA, so someone with experience in that might need to chime in on this. My keypad manager app really just needs SHM set up to maintain the system status. You don’t need to add any devices to it. If you change the state of SA, you just need to make sure it also sets the SHM state to match. Through a routine or other means. I’m not sure what options it has for that.

In my setup, I only use SHM, with iPhones as presence sensors. Delay would be nice, but my false alarm rate has gone way down lately so I’m not needing it enough to switch to SA. The keypad always accurately displays the current system status. I’m not currently using a siren, so right now false alarms are solely notifications or lights activating. Once/if I add a siren, then I may need the delay and SA might be on my radar.

OK the problem is this I need the 30 second delay as I don’t use presence sensors. My keypad is inside so no delay with SHM instant alarm. I have tried to set up SHM with nothing being selected, but the arming from SHM does not show status on activity feed. But yes it shows on Keypad. So I think I can’t set the alarm from SHM and maybe not routines. I have to use the Keypad. Yes it works just as I said, I must arm and disarm from keypad.

Ok. So the issue is that it doesn’t stay in sync with SA if you use some other means (such as a fob) to arm/disarm SA?

In this case, you could use another app, such as Button Controller or Rule Machine (I think) to run a routine that will arm SHM when your SA “arm” button is pressed on the fob. This should allow the two to remain in sync.

Unless someone wants to write an app that subscribes to the modes that SA uses and updates SHM status accordingly… If this is an issue for everyone, perhaps it needs to be added to the keypad manager app…

If I’m completely off base here or not getting it, I apologize. It’s been one of those days…

I thought about the fob, but I am trying to simplify everything. I got rid of the presence sensor as it wasn’t accurate, I tried life 360 not accurate. I agree, maybe added to keypad manager app but it is up to the author to do this and I don’t want to ask him for something maybe nobody else wants. He devoted a lot of time in it and it is his art if you know what I mean. In the meantime I will have to live with it as it is. I know for sure using routines in ST app doesn’t use the delay in SA, I know arming or disarming from SHM doesn’t use the delay, so I have to arm and disarm from the keypad. I can of course let someone in by remote disarm and when they leave and lock the door I can rearm, but the status on keypad will not be correct, unless I do it from SHM without delay coming into use. I would love to get this working so I can add the siren.

I just snagged a version of SA that has the delay, and will sync with SHM, I believe SHM —> SA and SA —> SHM …so I am wondering if it would help this situation as I am considering it as well…

I’m not sure I completely understand your issue but I use Smart Alarm and the Keypad and the keypad status updates correctly. I don’t use SHM or have it set up but I have my routines set up to change the SHM status solely for the purpose of having the keypad status show up correctly. (Example by ‘I’m Away’ routine changes SHM status to arm-away) Not sure if that makes sense or solves your issue but it is working for me.

Didn’t work, keeping published version until fix available.

That is how I have mine set up. I have to arm it using the keypad. But my Routines are Away, Home, and Night I renamed to Disarm Alarm or OFF on the keypad. All routines work. The problem is that I can only arm from Keypad as it is linked to Sa to give me the delay. If I arm from the pretty SHM interface I loose the delay.

After I installed the IRIS keypad I had a device called Centralite keypad and one called" thing" that looks like this. Do I need this one and if yes what should it be? Is there a sensor within the keypad that detects movement? Look at the screenshot and let me know what you think and should I delete it. I think it is a function of the tamper system, but not sure how to activate it.

I arm through the routines and/or the keypad but I don’t use SHM. I don’t think there is a way to utilize SHM or the SHM dashboard and use the SmartAlarm delays.

Yes, but at least I can see the status of the Alarm after arming from Keypad. I wish we can find the hidden, chime, panic and the timer beep sequence that would be very useful. Did you see my screenshot? I think I can delete it as it already had the Keypad paired.

I removed the “THING” item doesn’t affect anything. Not sure why pairing found the correct device Centralite keypad and also created “THING”, but it was doing nothing so I just removed it.

Guy’s I don’t understand a device called :THING" keeps showing up even with the proper device type found called Centralite Keypad. There is a screenshot If anyone has any idea what it is and how to configure it please let me know. All I know is it has to do with Keypad.

You need to change the device type (use the pull down menu to choose the correct device). The keypad is not an “Acceleration Sensor”.

Install the device handler

Then change it to that new device.

Edit: Sorry I see you are having a second device show up, are you sure it isn’t finding another device that has been disconnected? From time to time I have an Iris Motion Detector drop off and when I add a device ST does what you are describing above. Check all of your devices and make sure they are functioning within the Smartthings app and they haven’t somehow dropped off.

Sorry about the confusion.

Also if you don’t get what I’m saying in the post above try reading this:

When I paired it found the IRIS keypad and it was correct and still shows Centralite Keypad. This is a second item called thing, that if I remove it it comes back. The only reason the “THING” shows Acceleration sensor is because that is the first thing on the pull down menu. The Keypad works fine, but everytime I remove this “THING” it returns. I am wondering if it is another zigbee device inside the keypad. All my devices are accounted for and working this is crazy.

When I press Panic I get this in LOG

It doesn’t prevent anything from working but I hate having a device taking up space on the dashboard. I removed it again and I am sure within an hour it will be back.Well showed back up in six minutes and it says active, wish I knew what in the keypad has its own device type. When I set it up as a keypad it was missing functions such as temp and battery. so it is a separate device, and know way to figure out what it is.

The only way to tell if this is a separate zigbee device within the keypad is by finding it’s “Raw Description”. Maybe @mitchp could help point you in the right direction.

I sent a message to mitch, maybe he can see something. I really think it is a device within the IRIS keypad what I have no idea. I can’t delete it as it comes back so maybe it is a lead to getting the complete keypad working.

Is anyone else with the Iris keypads seeing a second device?

@joelw135 The Zigbee ID in the screenshot you sent me is definitely a CentraLite device, just not sure what without the “raw description”…
