Cannot log into SmartThings account on Pixel 4a

This is driving me nuts. I have a Pixel 4a and literally cannot get the SmartThings app to allow me to log in. Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to “Sign in” in app.

  2. App opens sign-in page. If I’m not already signed in, I enter my e-mail and password. It refreshes and then goes BACK to my password page. Same thing happens if I try using a single use code via email.

  3. I’ve tried opening in my default web browser (Samsung Internet), which I can log into and the app “remembers” my login. However, when I tap “continue,” nothing happens. It just sits there. This is clearly a Samsung issue where it’s not authenticating my login and sending it back to the app.

Super frustrating, to say the least. Have cleared out data, reinstalled app, used three different browsers (ironically, even if I set Samsung Internet to be the default browser, SmartThings will ONLY use Chrome as the login window. I literally have to uninstall Chrome to force it to use Samsung Internet).

if you login to https://account.samsung.com - is Google account set to On or Off in your profile?
