This thread somewhat builds on and isolates a discussion in this linked thread. But there does appear to be a bug in the Android App.
Whenever I (attempt to) open any of my existing SmartApps (or install a new SmartApp using the same Developer Project) I immediately get:
No network Connection
Couldn’t find any available networks.
I can access the app fine at my.smartthings.com interface and edit it like I always have. As indicated in the other thread everything about the application, installation and connection keys are fine and have not changed in the last 9 months. There are no error logs in my hosting webapp and all device events for the existing installed applications are feeding through normally.
The problem did seem to crop up with the most recent app update. And the error is ‘instant’ when I try to edit an existing app. I can ‘install’ a new one, but then when I try to edit that, I also instantly get the error.
This error is different than in the past when there was a web app connection problem which reports the error at the end of editing when you’re trying to save the updates. In this case it is reported immediately upon opening.
I’m not sure what else to do or try, I’m happy to open up my developer logs to your team again. But I wanted to open a new issue since the other one was marked as ‘resolved’ due to the lifecycle comments. The core app editing issue is not resolved.
Thanks, as we couldn’t replicate the issue and the other user mentioned he reinstalled his app, we needed another report to check it out.
In the past, we’ve seen that even omitting the property appId when permissions was included in the SmartApp’s definition could cause the issue.
So, we would like to check your SmartApp definition if possible to see if it also happens for us, please. You can share it with me over DM.
If not, I’ll request the corresponding info for the report.
@lanfear, sorry. I re-read both posts and I saw it doesn’t need to be a SmartApp installed before the ST app’s update but every time we try to update an installed SmartApp.
So, I just made a test and was able to replicate it, so, ignore the post above, I’ll report this issue to the team.
Thank you for all this, I appreciate your help and attention to these forums. LMK if you want any bug report data from me, but given that you were able to repro I expect you can get it easier with your setup which is probably simpler.
