I sense the birth of a hashtag… #ConsistentAssistant
@MichaelS, App still releasing soon? Just found out about this and was about to donate and saw your post about it being late to donate.
It is never too late to donate
However, I do plan to release it in the next few days…if you want to be the first feel free to send something…otherwise Monday it should be out…
Thanks…donation coming, just because I like to support devs in general.
Sent. Spend it all on root beer floats, like I would.
Thank you so much…I have decided to send one more beta version out before Monday, so you are good…
and I love root beer floats!
NP.
So I’ll get a notification via email of where to get the code?
Got the notification, integrated github and set the app and device handlers up.
Wow…this app is so flexible and extensible that I almost don’t know where to begin! Very cool!!
Is there any difference in utilizing the smartthings IDE generated virtual switch and @MichaelS 's Google switch?
Yes…the Google Switch is stateless…so, what does that mean? Well, an ordinary virtual switch, when on, will not react to the ‘on’ command…The Google Switch still reacts when it is on and you give it an on command (or off and an off command). That is important in case you are using this in a manual environment. For example, if you have a virtual switch attached to a real switch, and you turn that real switch on, your virtual switch does not match the physical switch state. So, if you tried (with a normal virtual switch) to turn it off it wouldn’t do it…you would need to turn the virtual switch on, then off for it to make the physical switch react.
Does that make sense?
It does, thank you. Converting my virtual switches now
And we are released: \
Just wanted to say you’re an awesome dev. You released this quick with full documentation. I’m using CoRE to handle GH interactions but downloaded the app to check it out.
Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the community providing Top quality Smart App’s WITH stellar documentation to implement them. It is apparent from your follows here on the forum that we all sincerely appreciate and acknowledge your expertise and dedication.
You are ALWAYS “right” and spot on with trouble shooting.
Thank you again for your contributions !
I know what I’ll be doing if I get some time this weekend (looks like I’m working both days, but might have some free time at some point).
I just moved the GH into the bedroom since I have the Echo mounted in the kitchen (and the GH was being triggered by last week’s episode of Modern Family since it was in the living room near the TV).
I donated to the app because I believe in supporting developers, but I can’t think of a good use for this app. What are some of you doing with the app? I was just curious.
Brian
Someone asked a similar question in the release area for this app:
Loving the control of my Sonos with this SmartApp. You are a lifesaver!
It’s so nice not having to “cast” to a chromecast audio after switching to line-in, etc. Eager to see how this grows. Thanks!
Glad to hear it! That is why I did this!
Just a quick question about Google Home.
In my room I have 2 lights, name it bedroom one and two, with alexa I can say,
“Alexa turn on bedroom one”,
But with Google Home, one or two doesn’t work, right?
Only works “hey Google turn on bedroom”, and with that turns on, the 2 lights (funny thing, bug? she says, 3 lights).
Going to install this app, already had the Alexa version, thanks.
Google Assistant is likely getting confused by “Bedroom” - the Room (in Google) and “Bedroom One/Two” - the Things (in ST and Google).
Try assigning an alias in Google Home settings for Bedroom One and Bedroom Two (don’t use the word “Bedroom” in the alias), but keep them in the Google Room “Bedroom”.
You should be able to toggle them individually by the Alias, as well as the Room name collectively.
Give it a try and see if this helps!

What do you like about it ? Curious to see what it can do with sonos. Can you play any artist via voice?
