Automate lighting throughout the house - how?!

Hi there,

I was thinking that I might be able to automate lighting throughout the hose - without touching any switches - my ideas are:

  1. Hall
    – Enable lights when motion is detected or open/close sensor activity
    – Disable lights - 1 minute or so when motion stops

Result: works fine

  1. Office - I’m using the fibaro multi 6 here
    – Enable lights when lux is below a certain level and motion is detected
    – Disable lights - 5 minute or so when motion stops

Result: works sort of - it seems when working on the desk there is very little movement detected, so I might add an additional measurement eg socket that has monitor connected has a certain power draw, to cure this behaviour

  1. Livingroom and Kitchen - fibaro for the livingroom and kitchen area samsung sensor
    – Enable lights when lux is below a certain level and motion is detected
    – Disable lights - 10 minute or so after motion stops

Result: works partially, similar issue as in the office, it almost feels like the conditions arent combined as I would expect it to happen

  1. Movie mode: Livingroom and Kitchen - fibaro for the livingroom and kitchen area samsung sensor
    – Enable lights when TV socket is above a certain level, its after 6pm and the lux is lower than a certain value
    – Set mode: Movie
    – Disable Movie mode and switch back to normal mode as soon as TV is switched off

Result: works as expected

All in all it seems there is an issue with any action followed to a motion stop - has anyone found a way to debug this OR knows a way to get this to work perfectly?

I have tried Smartlighting, Rule Machine and Motion Lighting but I am not really satisfied with the results.

With regards to the fibaro multi sensor I already went down to the lowest option with regards of sensitivity and poll the lux more frequently - the results are ok if I extend the time off after motion stops but it more less defeats the object - unfortunately the presence sensors dont seems to have any sort of proximity which I could use to detect a person being present in a certain room or so …

I believe the fibaro also support some sort of people counting entering a room or leaving a room but I couldnt find any option in the smartapps available for this …

Does anyone have another idea for me or some advise how to get this to work?

cheers

Thats why I am looking for a thermal Z Wave sensor. rather than motion it would pickup body temperature to trigger and keep events going.
