Anyone had luck with Secure SSP-500 Zigbee Repeater sockets/outlets?

Has anyone had success connecting the Secure SSP 500 Zigbee Repeater with ST?

This is a mains-powered device, with an additional socket on the front (like the various smart sockets, but less smart, since I don’t think you can turn it on and off). There are a number going cheap on eBay but with little information - and even the manufacturer, Secure Meters, doesn’t even list them on their website any more. The datasheet claims to operate on Channels 11-26, 2.4GHz, so I don’t think it should be a channel issue, but unfortunately I’ve had no luck registering with my hub (UK hub v2, firmware v 000.024.00020).

First time posting, so hope this is in the right place!

Wrong profile. That company only makes devices using the zigbee “smart energy” profile which is used for energy company devices. Smartthings uses the “zigbee home automation” profile. The two don’t work together.

If you were just looking for an inexpensive Zigbee repeater, try the IKEA Tradfri plug-in pocket socket. It works well with SmartThings, and at a price of £9 pounds, it’s difficult to best. :sunglasses:

(The Tradfri smart bulbs and this pocket socket work well with SmartThings. The handheld buttons and remotes do not. Product descriptions will say they need their own gateway, but the smartthings hub can be used instead. )
