it really is needed and I don’t want to have separate sensors for the various locations… for full automation I would need one to support multiple hubs.
It’s not possible to do it with a zigbee device like the smartthings arrival sensor, just because those can only belong to one controller. Nothing to do with smartthings, it can’t check in with two different networks.
But you can already do this using one of the Wi-Fi/GPS services or a virtual presence sensor. You just set up multiple locations in your account.

Yes… multiple hubs in one house. One for the basement apartment one for the rest of the house. Since permissions aren’t granular, that was the only way to give the renter some access to their stuff without giving access to everything upstairs.
