Same thing happened to me. I am hubless since I am not home and no access to IDE.

I found the same. Of course tile color usage was a bug in the previous Android version.

I’m a little nervous right now as I updated to 1.7 and it says I have only 1 Thing (my cell phone) and no Hello Home actions. Looks like it’s a fresh, empty account!. My SmartTiles still shows entries though, gasp!

first start after the initial upgrade took some time for everything to show up.

For those that lost all settings, it’s not obvious, but you have to “Abort” setup and then login with your existing account.

Everything is still there, no reset, no need to setup everything from scratch.

Does anyone know how to enable or use the new “Widget” feature?

There’s no help or directions on how to use it.

I’ve stopped the app, cleared the cache and on my knee’s waiting :scream:

yea, I just dragged it to a blank area, selected my location, it appears to be a hello home shortcut widget, That will get some use from me for sure

Did that help? Mine still empty even login with 3 old accounts.

Long press on your home screen, choose the option for widgets and select SmartThings. It’ll ask you to select your location, then the widget will list your Hello, Home actions/phrases.

You have more than one location defined. This also happened to me on upgrade. To fix it do one of two things:

  1. Go into the IDE and delete the empty location.

  2. Tap the hamburger menu to the left of Dashboard, tap the down arrow to the right of Home and select the correct location.

seems I had to restart my phone to enable the widget

I installed the app this afternoon, now all of my things are gone and it tried to walk me thru new user setup. Hope it works better for other people.

Thank you @beckwith. That fixed it. I got all my things back. That was fun trying to get into ide with my phone.

Edit : I hope support read this post otherwise there will be a lot of email coming for this problem.

Ok so this looks a bit buggy. I upgraded, logged into my account and it was a blank new account - panic. Nothing worked, clearing cache, data, restart. I then decided to see what the widget looked like and installed it on my phone. It showed 2 pictures of a home, one from my original account and one from the “new” account that appeared after the upgrade. I chose the old picture I had always used and my Hello Homes actions showed up, sigh of relief!
I then opened the ST app an magically my app and things all retuned and the Hello Home picture went back to my regular account.

Same here. Two locations were created. You probably want to remove the other:

The update seems to have a “new install” flag set, which starts you out as if you are a new user, and creates a new location for you.

Log out, and log back in with your existing location. Then proceed to the IDE to delete the newly created ‘blank’ location.

SmartThings: The updater needs to be fixed to not assume a new install/user. Seriously?; no one spotted this in testing?

Load times are improved by more than an order of magnitude; which begs the question WTF was 1.6 doing?.. Nevermind, it’s just nice to see a usable version of the app. Thanks!

@April I am so new to ST, this is my first upgrade. Will my app update automatically or do I have to manually do something?
