So I have an AC, the only Smart Things device in my home.
Yesterday everything was fine, untill this whole mess of AWS going down. I live in brazil, so I don’t exactly know if this was fixed in my area, but my AC seems to be affected by it.
The Smart Things app opens up normally, but sometime it shows no device, as if I dont have an AC at all. I close then open the app again and it shows up.
The there’s the problem with my Alexa and Google Home commands. I try to set a temperature with Alexa, sometimes it works, most times it doesnt, she says “AC is not responding”.
Google Home sometimes show my AC on, most times it shows it offline. When i try to set a temperature, sometimes it says the temperature has been set (it has not), sometimes it says it cant connect with Smart Things, or it shows an error status with my AC icon.
I turned my AC off and on again, restarted the router, nothing seems to work.
My firmware is updated (no update option shows up on the app info screen)
After the outage, all my screen Echo devices (show 8 and hub) stopped working properly. Then I checked my phone/tablet Alexa apps (android and iOS) and they do not show devices (just the loader animation) and some phones load, others just stuck on the animation. I reset the Echo Hub, and see no groups/devices. It’s a basic doorstop with 0 smart home functionality.
Point is, this is impacting not only screen-based Alexa devices (Hub and Show) but also my apps, Groups don’t come up or come up slowly and show no smart devices outside of Echos. Devices (light bulb menu) shows just a gleaming loader, occasionally loads but doesn’t show light status, often when you tap it you get a “…” 3 dots loader but that goes away and just returns to the device list with no on/off / temp UI. Tried on and off of wifi on just cellular, no difference.
