I’m not sure if this is a hardware issue with my 12 Multisensor Gen5’s or a ST issue, but there are times when I get very unreliable motion detection (which is kind of important, as I use it to trigger light actions) from these sensors.
The Aeotec website claims the firmware they have available ‘isn’t for the Multisensor Gen5’. At this point, I’m not sure if it is these devices needing firmware upgrades, or just slowness in the ST cloud system.
The specific failure’s are usually of two varieties: 1) Latching open for ‘motion’ for 45 min-1 hour in rooms with no movement- way longer than the 4 min normal time, 2) failure to detect any motion at all, then all of the sudden clearing up 5-10 minutes later.
Interesting - I don’t think it’s out of range in my case - one of them is in the same room (my office) as the hub!
However, interference is an interesting supposition - I don’t have any other 900 Mhz sources of interference that I know of, but I guess that’s possible. Did you upgrade the firmware (is it even possible) in your units?
I got two of these sensors recently and after a successful pairing with the Hub and waiting for about 30 minutes for the sensors to begin sending data, I still cannot get either of them to respond to any kind of motion.
Any idea on how to resolve this? All the other readings seem to be working fine for now.
I’ve excluded and rejoined this device several times with USB power, battery power, secure mode, hard reset, etc. to no avail.
