Aeon HEM v1/v2 Firmware 3.64 Numbers are Off?

I didn’t write that DTH, I was just trying to troubleshoot the issue outlined in this topic’s subject. This thread is now getting way off original topic.

This addition to the DTH was to only solve this one issue.

If you’re having the issue, you can still use this DTH to reset your HEM, but afterwards you’re probably going to want to use a better DTH. The one that I used to fix this issue was written in 2014.

In order to get the fix, install this DTH, hit ‘configure’ (cog icon) and you’re done.

I am currently using this: https://github.com/constjs/jcdevhandlers/tree/master/devicetypes/jscgs350
’My Aeon Home Energy Monitor’ for day-to-day use.

##EDIT:

Sorry I’m dumb, I thought this was on a different thread.

That fix was for ludicrous number fixes, not just negligible wattage draw issues.

Updating the firmware did not set new variables in HEM to default and would cause it to report wattage usage in the hundreds of thousands range.

I wrote email to their customer service.

If anyone needs the firmware/process for the v1, it’s here:

http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Aeon_HomeEnergyMonitor

The v2 will need ST to do it OTA with parameter changes on the HEM if I remember right.

I was on firmware 3.60 and contacted support after owning it for a few days. the power data kept reporting random large spikes when no extra power was being used. support told me to update to 3.67. after doing that i no longer get power readings. only getting the following values:

  • battery
  • energy
  • currentKWH
  • kwhCosts
  • batteryStatus

on top of that the energy/currentKWH readings are climbing ridiculously quickly. I’m currently using the this dh: https://github.com/constjs/jcdevhandlers/blob/master/devicetypes/jscgs350/my-aeon-home-energy-monitor-gen1.src/my-aeon-home-energy-monitor-gen1.groovy 3/29 release.

Old thread but for anyone looking for Aeon HEM firmware, it can be found here. I had to email Aeon support as the HEMv1 pages are no longer up.

https://aeotec.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/6000182984-dsb09-firmware-updates-v3-61-v3-64-v3-67-us-frequency

I’ve had luck with 3.64, and 3.67, using @johnconstantelo’s DH.

Is there any valid reason why we should pick up the v2 HEM over the v1? v1 can be had for considerably less!

Later models report current (AMPs) and are zwave plus. I mainly use the devices to monitor on/off state so I’ve found v1 to work fine. Using johnconstantelo DTH my V1 power readings are within a couple $'s of my providers #'s.
