If that’s the case I am done with Matter. Matter hub will get returned. I’ll stick to zigbee and zwave. The future is bleak for smart homes with Matter JMO. Only the die hards are going to use this. I have VLANs and not just a basic network setup. I am not redoing my entire network infrastructure to support this. If the Matter developers think the average consumer is going to know how to enable and deploy IPv6 good luck. I guess if I have to in the future I’ll buy wifi smart devices. I think I’d rather buy a separate wifi router for smart home devices then deploy this. Anyway thanks for the help. This will get boxed up and returned.
That seems so much better then what we had before…
Actually, the average consumer does not have to enable anything. IPv6 is only required in the local network and devices use link-local addresses so it works even without a DHCP server. Most users probably already have IPv6 traffic in their local network without knowing it.
Advanced users with VLANs, firewalls, etc. yeah, they’re going to have a problem with Matter which requires a flat network (and multicast).
IPv6 causes so many weird interoperability issues. Seems odd to choose a standard with no backwards compatibility. We are already a niche market and now we are a niche of a niche. You limited yourself right from the start. Someday IPv6 will get there by that time I suspect Matter will no longer Matter. Thanks for the banter.
Just for kicks I hopped over to HA and the Zemismart bridge was detected and added with one click. Super easy. Seems to be an issue with SmartThings compatibility.
Updating incase someone lands on this in the future. I ordered the MOES hub and everything worked as expected. Although the zigbee lights did not show up immediately in smarthings. I do not know why. But I left everything connected over night and the lights appeared in smarthings the next morning.
FUCKING ZEMISMART YOU FUCKING F ING GITS Oh no. I’ve got that out of the way. Well, that’s a load of my life that i’m not going to get back and i’ve had to read all of these posts, and I only just found this one that told me that it just wasn’t going to fucking work bastards… Sorry I do apologise.I’m usually quite Well manner LOL

I appreciate the frustration. This one has definitely been annoying.
Separately, it’s not up to me, but moderators on this board usually do request that the language of all posts be G rated. This is an open site without a lower age limit, and they will probably request that you clean up the language if you want the post to stay up.
HERE IS MY TRY, AND IT WORKED: first connect the device to SmartThings with the printed QR code, then go use the newly generated QR Code From SmartThings to pair to hub to Smart life. Somehow it just run on both.
Curios how you made it work. I can’t even add the hub on smart things directly either via the printed QR code or by sharing it from smart life, I could share the hub without issues to google home though. The smart things app keeps saying “You need a hub to connect to the device”.
Choose add device in the smarthings app then choose partner devices.
Then choose “Matter” which should be the first item in the list. At which point it should give you and option to scan a QR code. You do not scan the QR code on the Matter hub.
Within the MOES or Tuya app select the hub. At the top right will be 3 dots … Choose that then scroll down to where it says “share via Matter gateway” it will create a QR code.
Scan this QR code with Smarthings app to add your hub to the smarthings hub
Ah that explains it. Thanks, I’ve bought a smart things hub, but it still hasn’t arrived yet. Currently waiting for it to arrive and hopefully make it work.
