I’m looking for a way to trigger a smartthings action when a smart light switch (Z-Wave) is pressed a second time (i.e. pressing ON when already ON). Any suggestions?

Many light switches have “debounce“ built in Specifically to ignore multiple button presses. This is why it’s very difficult to do double tap just with automations.
Instead, there are quite a few model switches which offer double tap and triple tap functionality built into their firmware.
Did you have a specific switch already that you wanted to do this with? If so, what is the brand and model?
