Hey folks, I searched the forum for a similar issue in relation to when adding a device getting an error pop up. There does not seem to be a fix for this on those threads but just wondering if anyone has had any success with this? Thanks.
I’m sure that’s very frustrating.
You can get that same error for a number of different reasons, so we have to ask a few questions first.
Which version of the SmartThings app are you using? ( The topic title is a clickable link)
What country are you in?
What model hub do you have?
What’s the brand and model number of the device that you are trying to add?
If you are using a custom device type handler, which one?
Have you successfully added any other devices before this one or is this the first device you are adding to your account?
Please provide details on the process you are using for “adding device manually”. This could mean several different things.
Are you trying to add a device from the mobile app or from a smartapp or a web browser using the ide?
