200 Device limit - How to proceed from here?

Or if it generates revenue for Samsung? :joy:

True dat…

Nothing because Samsung has locked me out from adding anything. I can’t even add back devices that have fallen off.

That’s rough.

I had the same issue. If you’re on Android and have a spare phone, ST’s App version 1.8.07.23 will let you bypass the limit. I installed that version from APKMirror on an old phone (Note 9). Once I get a device is onboard, I switch back over to my daily driver (S22 Ultra) and configure the device (Name, room, etc.) I finally, just today, got all of my devices moved off of my older v3 hub to a new v3 hub. Factory reset my empty v3 hub and made it a secondary hub (that was good timing, since that feature was recently released). I now have 268 devices in one location, 96 of those are on my old v2 hub (dedicated to security devices and functions.) The remainder (172) are loaded on my v3 hub.

Yeah, thanks but I’m on iOS.

I may just grab a cheap Android device for this workaround.

Yeah, just for fun I tried loading ST’s on a BlueStacks virtual phone and it wouldn’t install. That would have been handy if it would have worked.

@JDRoberts I don’t think this needed to be a new thread. This is the 300 device limit issue.

Ok. The device limit has changed so many times and the documentation is so unclear. I’m not sure what the current situation is and if it’s the same on both android and iOS. Is it 300 devices or 200 devices or are we talking about different limitations in different places?

In any case, the discussion definitely didn’t belong in the prime day thread.

Do you have a suggestion for what current thread to add it to?

Probably this one.

Done as suggested. :sunglasses:

HI All, Has anyone else started to get the 300 Limit error when adding devices but when they are way below 300. I’m currently not able to add devices, and I’m at 250 devices. So not sure what has changed, does anyone know what counts towards the 300 ? Not sure what I could have 50 of, but it’s the only thing I can think of

Well it should match what the Advanced Web App shows as being in the Location. So that will be all your hub devices (Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave, LAN and any Edge child devices), schema devices, device groups, virtual devices, tags, hubs and mobile presence.

If you have a convenient way of accessing the API then https://client.smartthings.com/v5/locations should show the deviceLimit, deviceCount and deviceVacancies for each of your Locations and they should correlate with the AWA.

Hi, No idea how to access the API, but I’ll type figure it out. I would say I’ll get the same answer of 250, so not sure why I’m not able to add devices. I’m trying their support desk on the phone, but I’m just being passed around. I don’t think they know
