Zigbee 3.0 Switch availability (2020)

I bet the back of that plastic case probably has the coloring and labeling. I’m getting a little excited for these because I have a couple really good use cases for dual load devices where the Zen30 switch is more than I need (plus I want Zigbee more than Zwave).

I’m definitely getting one and will work on a DTH for it if needed!

The HomeKit news article linked to above says there are four models

WSC01, single, no neutral required
WSC02, double, no neutral required

WSC03, single, neutral required
WSC04, double, neutral required

See the article for more details.

Product manuals for all four models are available on the aqara site. :sunglasses:

Yup, same ones on the FCC site. Can’t wait!

EDIT:

Instead of creating a DTH, I wonder if this ST stock handler will work:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/SmartThingsCommunity/SmartThingsPublic/master/devicetypes/smartthings/zigbee-multi-switch-power.src/zigbee-multi-switch-power.groovy

The fingerprint isn’t there, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work if the right clusters are there with the Aqara device.

According to the following article, the “no neutral required” Aqara models do not function as zigbee repeaters, only the 3 wire models do. Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

(Note that these are an “either/or“ set up with regard to homekit and smartthings, not both at once. That’s because the HomeKit integration is via the aqara hub and the switches can’t be connected to both hubs at once.)

Thanks for passing along that code. Saved me $8!

Looking at the description on Amazon for the double switch, both the neutral and no neutral switches say this:

Aqara Smart Plug and Aqara Smart Wall Switch can also be used as a signal repeater to extend signal coverage.

But that doesn’t mean their description is right…

Right, because there are other Aqara light switch models that do work as Zigbee repeaters.

it isn’t clear from their description, are these dimmers or on/off only?

Not a dimmer. See the user manual.

Started a separate discussion for the Aqara double rocker:

Zigbee outlet, dimmer and switch (all non energy monitoring) have been released!

I hope they release the energy monitoring versions soon, but purchased a couple outlets to replace defunct (no power) Zwave outlets. My goal is to replace 100% of my zwave outlets with zigbee. I also purchased a zigbee switch, but I already forgot where I intended to use it :exploding_head:

Yup:

LOL, hate it when that happens!

My outlet comes today, so I’ll update that other discussion with anything I find. I doubt we’ll see an energy version soon. Their previous models had them, so you’d think they’d engineer that same feature in their new models. It wouldn’t surprise me if the accountants got involved and said not to spend any R&D money on that. I can see that being true because if they’re focused on Alexa compatibility, and Alexa doesn’t use power for anything, why spend time and money on it?

The new switches are certainly less expensive than the previous models, and that’s a good thing.

The energy reporting versions have been certified so they do exist… but when they will be released is unknown.

That might also be why the versions w/o are cheaper. I thought I had read about a fan controller too but I can’t find it. Must have been wishful thinking.

Good catch on those, and I do remember a post from you a while back about that fan controller. Let’s hope it’s not wishful thinking!

My outlet just arrived via UPS, but I can;t get it installed until later tonight. I’m ok w/no power reporting for where it’s going, but I might wait for the next version that has it. I’ll be honest though, I really haven’t come across a need or use case for power reporting with the ones I have now, so we’ll see.

Just installed the outlet. I’ll be updating the other discussion shortly.

Looks interesting on no-neutral required and Thailand use US switch dimension. However, it cannot accept 220v. Waiting for Zemismart new physical switch for Zigbee. They said that there will be ‘no-neutral’ model as well. And it support 110-240v

Same doubt here

Hey kenny I see you use alot of zemismart products.Do you have any experience with this touch dimmer switch from zemismart

Haven’t use the dimmer at all. But I only have their Zigbee light switchs both 1,2 and 3 gangs. Neutral and non-Neutral.

I haven’t find a method to have local control on 2 or 3 gang switches. The DTH available execute in the cloud. If anyone finds a solution please let me know
