Xfinity XR8 U1 Remote Out Of Sight Adapter

Comcast deployed a new device called XR8 which would allow its Xfinity subscribers to control set-tops with “Aim Anywhere” technology that uses the ZigBee RF4CE specification.

This allows up to 5 Xfinity remotes to connect to the XR8 to control the set-top box. Any reason ST could not also sent “remote control” commands to change channels, scroll through the guide, etc.?

Got mine free from Comcast, but also found on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Xfinity-XR8-Remote-Adapter-Pairing/dp/B00YJTC6KU

Probably not possible, smartThings is currently only compatible with ZigBee Home Automation 1.2 specification, so the RF4CE – Remote Control 1.0 or RF4CE – Input Device 1.0 specifications will probably not be compatible.
