I thought this upcoming change might affect some folks. iPads will no longer function as homekit hubs with iOS16…

two follow ups on this thread…

  1. the post directly above about iPads can no longer be used as HomeKit hubs. That is incorrect. It will still work as a hub but it will not be able to handle Matter devices. That would require the Apple TV, HomePod (discontinued but possible it may make a return in the future), and the HomePod mini.

  2. iOS 16 is now available in Public Beta. Proceed at your own risk as it might be buggy.
