I just finished up with the electrician. He sent me another bill reaching just at 19800 for my 1250 s fr home finished. I just found it to be very expensive. Just not sure why I chose this system now. Hope it was worth it.
More details please? How old is your house? Why was the rewiring needed? Did you get a quote from a second electrician?
House was built in the 50s. Rewired the entire house and unfortunately went with Lutron. Thinking I was getting a deal. Well the invoices are coming in and half are going to overhead. I just don’t get why 50-55% go to overhead.
What country are you in?
If an electrician sent you a quote for the job you should not pay more than that.
USA. I am just trying to get information of what it should cost to wire a house a 1250 square-foot house a 200 amp service with Luton dimmers
You don’t really provide us enough information to say whether or not that is a fair price. What state are you in? Was your service panel upgraded from 100 to 200 amp service? How many Lutron dimmers, switches, or other devices were installed? Was the old wiring knob and tube requiring a complete replacement with modern Romex? Were all new circuit breakers required? Did you supply the Lutron devices or did the electrician? What price did the electrician quote you?
In California in 2019, I paid $13000 for a service upgrade from 100 to 200 amp service and a complete rewire to replace 80+ year old knob and tube with Romex in a 1088 Sq ft house. I supplied all the switches, dimmers, and outlets (GE Enlighten Z-Wave) at a cost of $1800. Lutron devices at today’s prices are approximately 50% more than the cost of the GE devices I installed. Your mileage may vary…
