What does this button do on "things"

On numerous if my “things” I have this button. What is it, what does it do please. Looks like a refresh button? When do you need to use it?

it si indeed a refresh button. Some devices don’t poll/refresh automatically or if you need to do a manual refresh.

Ok thanks. You can also, on iOS anyway, pull down to refresh, just another button suppose…
