Great suggestion. What is the behavior you would like to see? For example, auto-disarm when a lock is unlocked as an option? Sounds like you have that set up, but you’d like it to wait a few seconds to enable the disarm to take hold before triggering an incident?
@alex - Your response concerns me a bit…it’s like it’s the first time you’ve heard of this. I realize, as CEO, you are not plugged into the day-to-day discussions…however, I’m discouraged that this didn’t come up in SHM discussions. It has been discussed at length in the community ever since SHM launched. Maybe someone else here in the community can correct me if I’m wrong on this, which wouldn’t be the first time!
The need for delays in smart home monitor was first discussed in the forums on September 5, 2015, a few days after SHM was introduced. It was then discussed extensively in the SHM feature request thread and other forum threads on security since then.
All the features of Smart Alarm. I will not uninstall Smart Alarm until Smart Home Monitor is equally as capable.
Entry/Exit Delay is a must!

I would love to see a delay for when it is classified as an alert.
Example - I have a motion sensor in the garage that is added to SHM for armed mode. If a friend comes into the garage and unlocks my door (Kwikset zwave), it still lists it as an intruder. However, in this case since the door was unlocked within seconds of the motion being sensed, it should really be canceled…or delayed.
Basically, if X happens within Y seconds of SHM Alert trigger, do not mark as alert. In the example above, if zwave lock is unlocked within 10 seconds of motion, then do not mark as an alert that tripped the system.
I thought most security systems gave you a grace period of a few seconds to disarm them? This would be a similar feature. Unlocking the door with a keycode is the equivalent of entering a cod…
It has often been noted that the pre-existing community-created smartapp, smart alarm, has entrance/exit delays for each zone. Again from September 2015:
It would be great if there was a way to subscribe to intrusion events and other alerts. This would allow augmenting SHM built-in notifications with user-defined methods, for example, sound & voice, Pushbullet and othe messaging services, email, et.

Also, just to bring the SHM to the comparable level of functionality with Smart Alarm:
Delayed arming (exit delay)
