I’ve managed to automate my vertical blinds with an external blind motor like many others. The problem is that with vertical blinds the draw string is usually a cord and the tilt is beaded. Since the cord is smooth, it inevitably slips and loses calibration. I have improved things by using an elastic band but it’s not perfect. A beaded chain would not have this issue.
Has anyone any experience changing the smooth cord with a beaded chain? Or seen any online resources showing how to do this?
Dont think your going to be able to do that as the drive mechanism in the blind is made to accept beaded for open/close and smooth to draw the blinds. The smooth string actually feeds over rollers in the blind mechanism and attached to the first section in the movable bits in the head so beads will not work.
