Hello, I am hoping a staff member can help me force a firmware update. I have a SmartThings V3 Hub (IM6001-V3P) that has been sitting offline in storage for about 3 years. Because it was offline for so long, the factory certificate has expired. When I try to onboard it, it gets stuck on the downloading update screen (or throws error 12-002) because the server is rejecting the expired certificate. I know from other threads that the backend engineering team needs to temporarily whitelist my MAC address to allow the new firmware to push through. The hub is currently plugged in via Ethernet, powered on, and waiting. @nayelyz @Itati - Would either of you be able to assist me with getting this MAC address whitelisted? I can provide the MAC and Serial Number via Direct Message as soon as you are available. Thank you!

I finally managed to get it done, by blocking the UDP on my router. Thanks a million!

This post may be more relevant: [image] I am ready to migrate to a V3 from a V2. Update the firmware on the V3 first? Devices & Integrations If your hub/router has a firewall you should be able to block ntp traffic by denying access to traffic on port 123 (UDP Specifically if given the option).

Hi there, I’m trying to carry out these instruction but with no luck I’m afraid. I can’t seem to dump logs onto a USB drive either! When powering up the hub, I have a solid blue LED, then it flashes blue, then goes to flashing red & green normally, not flickering. I’m connecting it to my router vie Ethernet and have - hopefully being correct - with opening and closing the various ports mentioned…still with no luck…although not sure if what I’ve done is correct. The hub has been properly reset several times (holding reset for 30secs til solid yellow LED, waiting 2 secs and releasing). When using the app on my phone, trying to add the hub to a new home, it sees the hub and starts the process but I either get the 12-002 error code using wi-fi or the 35-xxx code (can’t remember it) using Ethernet. So I’m getting nowhere. You should reach out to ST customer support and inquire about those error codes. The one that dealt with NTP was 33-504 and I have no clue of the meaning for the ones you posted. To contact support, either go through the app by tapping on Menu and selecting Contact us or going to Samsung’s website and tapping on Support at the bottom of the page to find all contact methods available to you. Never a good sign when you can’t collect logs from the hub. If it is a v2 hub, it could indicate the firmware is extremely old which renders the hub useless. Support should be able to determine that. At worst, you can return it to whoever sold it to you and get your money back. My advice, if you got a v2 hub, switch to a v3 or v4 hub. :slight_smile: the v2 hubs have not been manufactured in over 8 years at this point.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The Hub is V3 though (IM6001-V3P) Manufacture Date: 2021.02 Error Code 33-504 is the one I’m getting, pretty sure of that…so I’m still not sure my blocking of NTP on my router is correct…very unfamiliar with all that.

In the troubleshooting thread, do a search of your Router to check if anyone may have posted what may have have worked for them. It was very difficult to block the port for many users. Some were able to block the ntp.org domain to achieve updating the security certificate on their hubs. Best advice: block the incoming ntp port Reset hub while connected to Ethernet. Add hub to app and when it indicates it is downloading updates, remove the block of the ntp port. Diffierent things worked for certain Routers do look at what other wrote worked for them. If you have friends or family where you can attempt this on their networks. It is a frustrating situation. But reach out to Support also in case those other error codes could be an issue.

[image] Rayzor: Can you help please? You might like to check what the NTP filtering is doing. You want to temporarily block connections between a random high number port on the hub (so look for a wildcard) and port 123 on the external NTP server. It may be that you are only acting on connections from port 123 to 123 which won’t help.
