Unable to pair aeotec nano shutter with aeotec hub v3

Hello

I bought a new aeotec smart hub v3 and also 15 aeotec nano shutters zw141. I have the v3 edge driver installed

  1. I am selecting scan qr code from the smartthings ios app.
  2. I am scanning the qr code while the device is showing rainbow colors.
  3. I wait.
  • Sometimes nothing happens, and it times out
  • sometimes about a minute passes and then the device gets added.
  • Sometimes the device gets added but it says status is not updating. It remains like this and never becomes operational
  • Sometimes the device gets added as a generic zwave switch and never becomes operational

Some devices are right next to each other. What is going on? What am I missing?

It sounds like the devices are too far from the hub when your pairing them. That’s why you get the generic Zwave device. Try pairing them right next to the hub or move the hub right next to the devices and move it back after. You may also need a repeater between them that is powered all the time and not battery operated. Try a Zwave plug or something similar, you may need more than one depending on what else you have on your network!

I was under the impression that they would act as repeaters. But alright. I will add a bunch of repeaters

Yes, they are repeaters and they also have S2 security so you may not need the plugs. Try and pair each one right next to the hub like I mentioned earlier. Also make sure you work out away from the hub. So, pair the one closest to the hub and keep moving to the next one.
