Thermostat control based on time/motion/ and away v. home

I’m new to Startthings and so far love it… but I’m particularly frustrated with thermostat automation. Seems that I can easily use automations to change thermostat temp based on time, but I would like to add automations based on motion… For instance… between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00 PM I’d like my upstairs thermostat to change from 74 to 80 degrees if there isnt’ motion for 30 minutes on the upstairs motion sensor. Once there is motion I would like it to return to 74. How do I do this? I tried some logic in webcore… but it seems to run once and then not work after the initial time.

Sepends on how your pistons are set up. Share an anonymized (green) screen shot of the piston and we can look at it.

Also, if youre trying to create automation based on motion and occupancy, you may want to look at Rooms Manager Rooms Manager: Smarter Rooms: Personalized home automation with Occupancy

What’s wrong with 2 Automations in the new app to do this?

:man_facepalming: I don’t know why I didn’t think that would work… but I did exactly as you have above and it works just fine… I guess I had an itch to try to learn WEbCore. Thank you! I"ll visit some of the other recommendations as well though just to learn.

I will check it out! Thank you!
