SmartThings Features and Updates

We recently presented our vision for “Your Companion to AI Living.” This debut introduced a proactive home companion integrated into the SmartThings platform. Key highlights included Vision AI, which delivers real-time updates from Samsung appliances and TVs, recognizes faces, detects safety risks, and summarizes smart home events through Now Brief.

This vision expands across our WWST partner ecosystem, including sensors, locks, and new Matter-compatible cameras, enabling enhanced home monitoring, smarter alerts, and unified safety experiences.

Some other highlights include:

  • Pet and Family Care: AI-powered Pet Care for early pet health detection and Family Care for cognitive health monitoring were also announced recently.
  • Sleep Environment Reports: SmartThings users can understand how bedroom conditions, like temperature, humidity, and air quality, impact their sleep. Using the Aeotec Smart Home Hub 2 with products like the Eve Weather Connected Weather Station and Samsung Health data, users get a full view of their sleep quality, allowing for smarter automations like auto-adjusting thermostats or closing blinds. We look forward to seeing Matter cameras come out in the market soon.
