Sonoff SNZB-02LD

Just got hold of this temp sensor with display and probe.
I had hopes it would work right out of the box but I just get it as a Zigbee thing so I’m guessing it needs a different driver but now I can’t change it.

Anyone else have one and got it working?

I have the Sonoff sensor, it is 100% functional with the standard Smartthings driver

Hi! I have the SNZB-02LB working as a thermostat but I had to rebuild the edge driver and the presentation isn’t perfect. See my post here:

Really?

I do t even have the temp option under Sonoff when adding?

I too have finally got one of these Sonoff SNZB-02LD temperature monitors with a probe. From what I understand these rare temperature only rather than temperature and humidity of the 02D version. I initially thought it wouldn’t connect to my hub but I have now found it in the app installed as a “Thing”. I have tried to edit the device by changing to one of @Mariano_Colmenarejo drivers which I have downloaded to my hub, but it cant find any alternative drivers. How can I force the device to use one of his edge drivers. To be clear I have downloaded:

  • Zigbee Thermostat Mc
  • Zigbee Temp Sensor and Child Thermostat Mc
  • Zigbee Temp Sensor with Thermostat Mc
I am not sure which is the correct driver for this Sonoff Temp sensor but it cannot see any of the above in the app.
    Any suggestions greatfully received

You would have to clone the driver source code, add the fingerprint and install it in your hub, like this user did few days ago:

Then we have the same experience.

Thanks, I think that is outside of my expertise. Others have said the device was identified by the standard Smartthings driver so was hoping that either this or @Mariano_Colmenarejo 's driver would work.
When can we expect AI to write edge drivers for devices :joy: :joy:

Yeah might work but it’s a bit above my skill level.

Hi
Looking at the driver you have installed it’s for a humidity device. The sensor we are referring to is the SNZB-02LD which has an attached probe and is temperature only. Are you sure you don’t have the SNZB-02D which is a dual temperature and humidity sensor?

It also looks like the driver developer is not “SmartThings” so it’s not the stock driver. The driver date is November 2024, so whatever driver it is it’s not updated either.

The standard zigbee humidity driver can handle temperature sensors too, although there’s no profile with only temperature.

Unfortunately those doesn’t seem to work with this one. It is brand new so I sort of guessed it might not work right away but hoped since it’s “just” the fingerprint and removal of humidity

Hi! If you want to use the drive that I rebuilt I can try to make it available to you but keep in mind that it is configured as a thermostat. Also, I might make changes to it in the future. Let me know.

Thanks, I don’t have the device but I’m sure other users in this post will appreciate the offer.

It’s strange though that Sonoff doesn’t have a custom driver or added official support through WWST, they do for many other devices.

Might be worth keeping an eye on the Sonoff channel list for the future - a driver may appear :crossed_fingers:

Yes, my sensor is exactly that one, I received it from Sonoff at launch

But your driver doesn’t look like the stock one (doesn’t say “SmartThings” as developer and is quite outdated), which one is it? Maybe there is indeed a custom driver from Sonoff that you have installed from other devices without knowing.

Try this one, Sonoff sent me at the release, but I’m no longer using it as I can see on my channel print.
And this is for the other sensor released together, but it can work for this one.

Actually you are! I found it strange that “SmartThings” was not the developer, turns out Sonoff created the custom driver without modifying the text of the stock driver, so it reads:

  • Zigbee Humidity Sensor
  • SmartThings driver for Zigbee humidity sensor devices

But it’s not the stock driver, it’s the one made by Sonoff that can be installed from your link.

I guess @Thyg0d could test that driver in your comment and if it works mark it as the solution.
