SmartTiles Dashboard v5.5: Added UK 🇬🇧, 5 × Dashboards, and more! Nov 6, 2015

So I see from the title! I think my brain was having some sort of bootloop when I typed that. I’m just glad I actually put some useful information in that post…

Ooooo…!

Hmmm… I think something looks like it’s not quite working right though. Can I ask you for a huge favor and let’s take up a collection to buy a couple of these “64 4k oled” for SmartTiles to use as home theaters test platforms? : :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ha ! 65 Inch 4 K TV running SmartTiles and still has the Video Tile size displayed as small and not Medium. Its not like there is not enough screen real estate to display the video feed as a larger tile. Heck if there was a setting for XXL it could still handle it just fine.

The setting is under Preferences > Video Tile Size

Great to get this working. It also solves an issue for me on how I can give my neighbour access to my property whilst I am away. My challenge was that if I left the presence sensor my alarm would never arm.

Have you considered adding on SHM? Or is there already a tile I can add with this on?

Definitely under consideration, but we don’t have a published API from SmartThings to interface with SHM. Still researching though…

Is there a way to have a tile which runs just one routine? I have it showing all the routines, but I want one that just runs the “I’m back” routine which would in effect disable the alarm and change to home.

@gcoombs, can’t you just make a Virtual Switch and tie it to that Routine then have SmartTiles show that switch?

Sounds like a good solution. However I’ve not set up a virtual switch yet, how do you do that?

My first thought was…Why would you even want this?

Then, the other part of my brain said…I have to have this!! lol

AWESOME!

Try here:

See if this works: enter the following 6 characters into the title field of that video tile:

Alternatively, you can hide the label by adding a custom CSS block. The above method should be easier, so try that first.

I also have it running on an older 55" TV using Nexus Player and Harmony Remote.

Amazingly, I can turn off the TV via SmartTiles using the TV remote! It’s kind of redundant, but it’s good to have options, right?

On the SmartTiles SmartApp configuration screen, look for “Dashboard URL” or “View Dashboard” section. Step into it to view the dashboard URL.

Yep,   worked perfectly, thanks!

Thanks, I think you’ve just opened my eyes to a few new things! I couldn’t work out how to use via a routine, but by having a switch I found a smartapp to use.

@swindmiller’s Virtual Switch idea is great and useful for many functions… Glad he shared and you discovered that.

Adding a “Single Routine Tile” to the list of “thing tiles” the user can directly create is something we’ll put on the “probably easy improvement” features request list.

Good question…! I’ll put together some more screen shots that explain the various config pages…

Should it be a momentary switch?

Yeah that would probably be best.

What app would I use for the momentary switch? The one for Alexa requires an action for on and off
