SmartThings & Hue Lightbulbs

Hi. I am new to Smartthings - just purchased a starter kit and two of these lightbulbs: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Personal-Wireless-Lighting-Homekit/dp/B0152WXI0E/ref=sr_1_3?s=lighting&ie=UTF8&qid=1483526228&sr=1-3&keywords=hue+bulb

I read that the bulbs can be added as a thing direct to SmartThings without the Hue Hub - how do I do this? At the moment the bulbs are not being discovered as a device.

I’ve just purchased the same bulb too. It hasn’t arrived yet so I cannot confirm, but Smartthings did say that the Hue Bridge is required when connecting Hue bulbs to Smartthings: https://www.smartthings.com/works-with-smartthings/light-bulbs/philips-hue-white-e26-a19-led-bulb
