Smartthings Station can’t find the matter device when connecting Aqara M2/M1S/M3, Orvibo Mixpad in the same LAN. Error Code 39-517, it reminds to check if the matter device is in the same LAN environment, but confirmed the ST and the Aqara deviced in the same WiFi/LAN.
Is the mobile device with the ST app on the same WiFi?
Normally, my mobile phone can configure the smartthings even if it’s not in the same WiFi, but i also did try to connect my phoned to the same WiFi, the error remains.
Man in the last week or so I can’t add anything using Matter to any ecosystem. I’m so incredibly frustrated. There has to be something more going on and it is breaking my brain trying to figure out what it is.
Thanks for letting me use your thread to vent!
Login to the Advanced Web App and check the hard and soft limits.
Also contact ST support
I actually already had that open. Where do I see these limits?
Also, my issue isn’t just with ST - I can’t add using HomeKit or Home Assistant, either. So I think there is some network or device (?) issue?
But anyway I am interested to see the limits you mention.
do you have ipv6 enabled in your internet router?
Clarify: you can’t add devices to HomeKit and HA also or have Matter devices in those systems you can’t bring into ST?
My first thought… is your mobile device on same SSID and same band such as 2.4 ghz?
The limits I mentioned would be in the hub section
I know you weren’t asking me but I wanted to ask if their ideal choices for these advanced settings. I have ipv6 turned on but I left all of these at their defaults from the router.
Yes. All kinds of WiFi environment were tested, WiFi hotspot of mobile phones, 2.4G WiFi, 5G WiFi. All shows the same error.
No, sorry, I can’t on-board a fresh, factory reset device into any ecosystem.
My network is combined 5/2.4G. I have all sorts of trouble when I try to split them. But up until a few weeks ago, my phone had no issues provisioning smart devices correctly.
Still don’t see anything about limits. Are these specific to Matter or are you talking about how many total devices can be added to the hub?
The only things I see about Matter are availability, software component version, and rendezvous hedge supported. And the drivers I’ve added.
Check if your router allows you to move your mobile device to 2.4 when it connects.
Yes… a split 2.4/5 can be messy but doable.
Which hub do you have or appliance with built-in hub?
Sorry driversoftmemorylimits under characteristics. Not sure where I got the hard limit lol
V3 Hub.
I believe once a device has connected to my network I can choose a preferred band for it. Otherwise it automatically selects the “best” one which it seems to do accurately.
That’s it… select the preferred for your mobile device and test. You can always change settings back
Interesting. I had thought about changing this after adding a smart device to hopefully force it to stay where it belongs but I had not thought of changing the band on my phone. Will give it a go when I get home.
I have “drivermemorylimitstatus” and “drivercountlimitstatus” both showing as OK. Did a ctrl+F and don’t have anything with the word “soft” lol.
Haha well thanks for the guidance. Especially for giving it whilst walking through a crowded store!
Did you manage to resolve the issue?!!
I’m facing same problem, I have Aqara M3 and couldn’t connect to smartthings and getting same error 39-517
If you could resolve the issue please share with us your findings…
Beyond using the wifi network, I found the other issue that blocked my Govee matter over wifi connection was to ensure I had not previously set up the security association (which I had with IOS when I updated the driver). Deleting this, solved one of my devices pairing. The other one still does not pair… Matter over thread seems much easier than Wifi.
Can you please explain more what to do step by step …thanks
Once you have set the wifi to the 2.4 GHZ one, In IOS, go to settings, general, then matter accessories. You’ll get a list of your registered matter devices (on iPhone, not ST). Find the one you are having issues with. Selected it and then press remove device. That may allow you to re-pair it if there is not another issue.
