SmartApp with Alexa

Hi,
New dev here. Trying to write a smart app to set two thermostats to two different temperatures and turn off some lights at bedtime. I’ve managed to get it working in the SmartApps area of SmartThings using an App Touch handler (the “play” button). So when I click Play it works correctly.

However, my app doesn’t seem to be able to be invoked by Alexa (e.g., “Alexa, turn on Bedtime”). Is there a way to do this so one doesn’t have to click the Play button and can leverage Alexa?

Hey there and welcome to the adventure of ST and Alexa coding. There is a way to do it, and it’s not simple. To run your app directly from Alexa you have a lot more to do.

Have you looked at the community developer created apps askAlexa and EchoSistant? There is also CoRe.
