Smart things should be initializable for AI automation

안녕하세요? Hey hey~ I’m a Korean non-programmer man who like StarWars movie ㅎ

In this dawning season of AI era, SmartThings devices should have ‘intializable’ apps.

By using AI apps like ChatGPT, I’ve easily made a web app to control my 90 years old mother-in-law’s Samsung TV for her watching of 대장금, an awsome drama, because she was too old to memorize the navigation of TV app menus.

During a half of month, hour and hour I’ve been striving to try to do it, what is the result?

Failure~ ㅎ It is IMPOSSIBLE to implement such simple TV automation code using this great “high tech”(bolded style) SmartThings API! ㅋ

What is the reason? Because the VOD apps like Neflix are not INITIALIZABLE, automated sequential remote control commands in a series to play an episode of a drama series cannot play such 대장금 episode for the status of the apps every time changes so developers cannot estimate current status of apps.

So what is the solution for this problem? All the apps in TV should be INITIALIZABLE by a command or button, which means the apps can be changed to its initial status or intial screen or menu for developers can estimate its status and run some useful sequential combo commands to change the app into specific state.

Such important property of the apps in this AI era can be called as ‘Initializability’(초기화가능성)

Thanks for your precious time of reading.
