I am going to be buying a smart lock for my front door and was just curious as to which smart lock do most go with?

I am tossed between the Kwikset 916 or the Schlage Camelot Connect. I want to ability to lock,unlock, see battery percentage, create/delete user codes on demand. I will be purchasing Rboys lock application but I am not sure if the kwikset 916 supports all of those features?

@RBoy. I think many prefer the Schlage locks due to their additional features and the ability to set volume, auto lock, privacy mode, and one touch locking through the DTH. Many believe the Schlage are a better quality lock as well.

However, the Kwikset locks can do all of the things you are asking for above. They are also very popular.

Schlage or Kwikset?

Hi, Very new (in fact don’t even have my hub yet!), trying to figure out if with either lock I can introduce temporary codes via the ST app? I spoke to Kwikset, and they said the lock supports changing codes etc via app, but they don’t know if ST does, and to speak to them. I asked Schlage too and this is their reply: Thanks for your question! At this time, you cannot do temporary user codes with the SmartThings platform. We are in talks to roll out this feature by the end of the year with that platform. Currently the Lowes Iris platform supports this feature, and Wink supports adding user codes and setting a ‘reminder’ to delete the code via the app. This is done in this manner for security and reliability reasons.
