Small temperature sensor with probe / espresso machine

Looking for advice on a reliable temp sensor / probe combo that works with ST. Looking for a sensor that:

  1. Is small as i am working with limited space.
  2. Has a probe (or can be fitted with one - dont mind soldering).
  3. Can handle at least 150 degrees celcius.

Was planning to use the older Sonoff TH16, but seems it has been replaced by a newer and much larger unit that will not fit into the space i am working with.

Many sensors have a 50-60 degree limit that i can not use.

For those interested, then this will be used to control my espresso machine (PID). The probe will be attached to the boiler. The heating element will be connected to a controllable relay, and the machine is connected to a smart outlet. Will allow for custom water temp and turn on/off at the right times. There are aftermarket PID’s, but they are all analog, expensive and a pain to wire in.

Maybe the Shelly uni? You would need to attach a probe, but that would give you a lot of choices, So you should be able to find something that could handle the temperature specifications.

It has an out-of-the-box integration with SmartThings via their cloud, or there is a community built integration which is local.

It uses Wi-Fi, which in this case might be A good thing since most kitchens have a lot of metal and ceramic which can block signal, particularly for Zigbee devices.

Pt100 sensors can operate to 200C.
Here are some examples pt100 Temperature Sensors & Transducers | Farnell Sweden

I have no information how to get the Pt100 sensor measurement to ST.

Shelly Uni would be great, but its low voltage and i am working with 220v.

I might end up using Sonoff TF Origin if i can get it to fit AND if it is useable through the ST/eWeLink integration. Have not used that before as all my sonoff switches integrate with ST through Tasmota

Do you know if Sonoff temp switches are supported by ST in a way you can create ST automations based on reported temp? Sonoff reports temp every 5 sec but it would be rather typical if there are some surprising limitations on the eWeLink integration. Can not find anything but marketing documentation, which is useless.

Can also setup a Sonoff wifi to zigbee bridge if that is better, but dont know which method is preferrable.

Lots of stuff is low-voltage these days, including phone chargers. You should be able to find a transformer that will work if the low-voltage is the only issue.
