I apparently made a rash decision and bought two sensi thermostats for my wifes office. She has a lobby with direct sunlight and I need to circulate the air to keep the front from baking but the rest of the building will be freezing. I have tried to create a webcore piston to turn on the fan when my wife tells alexa to turn on a virtual switch. The piston works fine but the thermostat never changes states at all. I can change the fan to on and back to auto in the app. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
I just figured out my own problem. I was using the āTurn Fan Onā and switched to āSet Fan Modeā¦ā and it works now.
Iāve been trying to create an automation. The dehumidifier is plugged into a TP-Link (Kasa) smart plug. I would like to turn it off when the thermostat state is Cooling so my electric meter doesnāt take a double hit.
When I try to set up an automation based on the Sensi state, it gets through the whole process and when I try to save, I get the message āA network or server error occurred. Try again later.ā
It seems I can use humidity or temperature as the automation trigger just fine, but not state. Any ideas?
About 2 weeks ago, I was unable to make any changes to my t-stat using the ST app; however, I was able to see temps update in ST ā the unit responded to input from the Sensi app.
Error message. When using the ST app I would get a network connection error if trying to change temp. I saw the same error (network connection) when creating an automation that relied upon āstate.ā
Prior to this network error, I was able to update temps in the ST app without issue; however, I had never before tried to create an automation based on āstate.ā
Partial Resolution. I just removed and then added the Sensi back to ST. I can now change temps from the ST app, but I am still unable to create an automation based on āstate.ā
Remaining problem to solve⦠I would like to create automations base on āstate.ā
Iām able to control temperatures and modes, but having the same problem as you do.
One suggestion though, donāt use state in automation since itās not reliable, sensi is not updating every minute with the state of heating or cooling and fan mode. Even temperature and humidity are not updated every minute, if you check the temp and humid graph youāll see theyāre updated once they change.
Sensi integration had been working great for a while, but recently I started to see a bug, thermostat history log is full of null values, those are supposed to be humidity readings.
Is anybody experiencing connectivity and control issues to sensi thermostat lately? I noticed setting heating temperature was not executed and reflected on sensi.
Sometimes SmartThings app even said sensi was offline. I tried to delete sensi integration and reconnect, but still the same.
Itās like a probability thing, out of 5 commands only 1 would be executed, yet all the humidity and current temperature readouts are correctā¦
I am looking for a method to switch Schedules in the thermostats. We have an Auto schedule in both thermostats for normal use and a Vacation schedule in both for times when we are iut of town. Iād like to switch between schedules based on modes. Does the Sensi API allows for schedule changes?
