I purchased a samsung watch 6 recently and added the smartthings tiles for routines and multi device control. I discovered that both my phone and watch needs to be connected to the internet (not bluetooth only wifi so the phone and watch are connected) for the routines to run. I only want to switch on wifi in my and run the routines. Am I missing any settings? Any advise please?
Yes, when connected to Wi-Fi. Could not run Routines or control devices on just 5G. However, that could just be the weak signal I have at my current location.
Thought so, thanks. This is a disadvantage for me as my phone goes to power saving mode at around 10 AM and if any lights turn up during night, I should just enable wifi in my watch and turn the light off which I cannot if it relies on the phone to be connected to wifi as well.
Finally, I found out another way. I connected my watch to my S23 via bluetooth, opened the Wearable app, clicked on tips and guide, went to commands and specified a set of bixby commands to turn off various lights. I disconnected the phone and the watch and ensured the watch was running on ‘watch only’ mode. I then switched on Wifi in the watch and just executed the command through bixby voice command and it worked perfectly. It’s not a true routine run (with if and then conditions) but for my purpose, this is good enough to just turn off my lights.
