I have a new 75" Samsung NEO TV. By default, it also comes with a light sensor and sound sensor that show up in ST, along with the actual TV. My TV is set up so it is using the light sensor, but not the sound sensor (as I have external sound system so the sensor is deactivated). The sound sensor shows up as being deactivated. Is there any issue in removing the sound sensor from ST?
You have the option to hide devices in the app. That is an alternative to removing it. To hide/unhide devices in the app: go to the room that contains the particular device, tap on the 3 dots in the upper right of the screen, choose Manage devices, find your device and select it and click on Hide at the bottom of the screen. If you wish to unhide at any point in the future… go to the Manage devices and at the top of the screen, switch to Hidden devices. Note the option to choose between Devices in use and Hidden devices only shows after you have previously hidden devices.
Thinking about ST hub limits and trying to optimize where I can, I’m assuming hiding would not help remove save any resources, but would removing save some?
I don’t know enough about that sensor to recommend removing it or not. I’ll let other forum members step in…
