I recently replaced the battery (CR2) in my Samsung SmartThings Water Leak Sensor (zigbee) and the new battery level is not showing. It is “stuck” on 10% which was the old battery level before I changed batteries. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get the new battery level to register?
Same exact question. I have this problem with the smart things branded leak detectors and the DOME round ones as well. Brand new battery, still says 4% and gives me an error.
I later resolved this issue by simply removing the device and then readding it. I did NOT follow the generic support advice of the SmartThings team who wanted me to first restart my hub and then delete and readd the app. In my case, the battery setting changed from 9% to 77%. It was a brand new battery so I thought 77% seemed a little low even taking shelf life into account. This was about two weeks ago and the setting still shows 77% so I’m not clear if this value is changing or not. But it clearly registered a very different value after removing/readding.
I had the same problem of the SmartThings app not recognizing that the battery was changed. I realized that if I bring the sensor near the SmartThings hub THEN replace the battery … it recognizes the battery change. Then I. Ring it back to its original location and test it. It works fine!
