I have not yet been able to travel to my house, to test the lock again, as of today March 13, 2021 I have no changes since my last time, here the last update:
…this worked only a few months, one day overnight it disconnected from the wifi again and I have never been able to connect it again …
Currently that lock is in my vacation residence, to which I cannot return for the moment due to the pandemic, so I cannot try again…
When I can return I will try again to connect it to the wifi and update the information here…
I managed to get it Work. I bought SHP-A30 from Australia and I live in Canada. The app wasn’t showing the list of devices, but I found a way. What phone do you have?
Great news! how did you manage to do it? I bought the lock in China, I use iPhone XS and I got stuck in the same situation, the Samsung lock APP was not showing the available devices…

turn on your VPN ( in my case I used ExpressVPN and chose Sydney)
created Apple ID in Australia region.
download the app
go settings > general > language & region > ( I changed it to English ( Australia)
change the date and time to Australia.
close all the locations ( every single location option in your device turned off)
once you download the app go to settings, find the Smart lock app and turn off every thing off.
restart your device and make sure (airplane mode is on
Now,
Open the app and you will find the list of devices.
Once you choose your device, you can turn your location again on and follow the registration.
After that you can go back to your Apple ID and sign in, the app will still functioning properly with any region. My self Signed in back into my Canadian Apple ID.
If you don’t plan on taking it with you to a different region then you should have a distributor in your country, don’t order it from a different region because the app will geo-block you and honestly it’s not worth it anymore… Lots of other cheaper better locks without apps!

Will move into our new home next week where the lock is installed and waiting for us, I’m going to approach this scientifically and record my findings… So far here are a bunch of things I will try in combinations:
VPN to Singapore
Spoofing Phone GPS to show in Singapore
Creating an account on Smart Doorlock App with an SG phone number
Change regional settings on the router and the phone with different name than existing wifi
The app was installed through an APK so no need to create a google account or an iOS account in Singapore (although of all else fails I will try this).
It has been a while since anyone commented here so I wanted to add to the discussion. I am a USA based user of the Samsung SHP DR719 which seems to have been rebranded as the Zigbang R-80 after the company bought out the SDS business from Samsung. There does seem to be a lot more open source and ability to reverse engineer any region lockouts.
I have some software development skills but I haven’t tried building anything with the SmartThings platform.
I was able to get the lock to connect to my Wifi using WPS. (I have Asus access points.) But I experience the same situation as people state here with not being able to have the lock show up. All combinations of attempts from the Zigbang Smart Lock app result in the message that the model is not compatible.
I am wondering if anyone has tried to get it working again or anything outside of China.
