Same WiFi network

I have two wifi networks in my house. My question is, does my Google Home need to be on the same wifi network as my SmartThings Hub in order for it to work? If my initial setup was both on the same network and I move my Home to the other wifi network, will it still work?

Yup. It’s a cloud-to-cloud setup (Google Home <-> Smartthings). Your Google Home should work just fine being on another network.
