RGB strip light recommendations

What’s everyone’s recommendations for SmartThings compatible RGB strip lights.

Looking to use outdoors for the underside of a gazebo. Although outdoors, it will be dry. Do i need outdoor rated?

Need about 75’

Outdoor rated would be much better – – rain often comes in from the side, not just down from the top, as it gets blown around by the wind. And there are also just humidity issues.

Are you only looking for the individual bulb Christmas light type strings? Or would you be OK with the “rope“ type?

Also, do you need lights where different sections can be different colors?

And finally, what country are you in and do you have a SmartThings /Aeotec hub?

Had something like these in mind

I didn’t find any outdoor ones that worked with ST so I put together a solution using an outdoor rated set of strips and power supply from LED Supply.

Strip LED Strip (12V) with IP65 Waterproof Rating

At the bottom part of the page are the compatible power supplies, controllers etc. You have a few options for how to power on/off depending on whether you want to use a smart outlet or you want constant power to the PS and RGB controller. I have Alexa, so I chose to use the Wi-Fi RGB controller with constant power. There is an Alexa skill to integrate the RGB controller and I created a virtual device in ST as a proxy to turn on/off the controller with ST Routines and Alexa routines. Could just as easily done a simple smart switch/outlet with a non-Wi-Fi controller I suppose.
