Added fix for error while installing if the hub location/timezone wasn’t specified. Now it’ll warn the user to add the hub location to that it can pick the correct timezone otherwise it’ll default to UTC timezone.
Thanks to DnCCrew for this step:
To set the hub Location, from smartphone app:
Clicked on the 3 lines (top right corner)
Clicked on gear icon (top right)
Click area that says “Tap to set where home is on the map” and zoom in to correct location on map.

I apologize if this is kind of a silly question but what hardware does this control? Does it speak to a specific model of attic fans? Or can you install any of those fans and you just setup a smart switch to turn it on?
Also, regarding the weather station, same question. Is this intended for a specific model?
I’m currently using your apps to control my smartlocks. Thanks for putting these apps together! Top quality stuff!
Hi there. It can work with any fan which is connected to a smart switch. You can connect your attic fan to a paddle switch or any an outlet that can be controlled through SmartThings and the app will use it to control your fan.
The weather station is a built in service from SmartThings which pulls the weather information from the weather underground. It’s not a perfect substitute for a light and temperature sensor but it does a decent job check if there’s sun shining down on your roof and the temperature outside so the app can use that information while managing your attic fan.
Can this handle a comparison like: turn on the attic fan if the attic temperature is more than 10 degrees higher than the outside temperature? or turn on the attic fan if the attic humidity is more than 10% higher than outside humidity?
Hi there. You can set the target temperature in the attic (where the temperature sensor is located). The app will manage the fan automatically based on a variety of criteria like external temperature, lux/radiance of the sun etc to determine when to activate the fan. You can check out the first post for a list of options and the screenshots.
