Quirky + GE Overflow Smart Water Sensor

Hello, I am trying to get my two Quirky + GE Overflow Smart Water Sensors to work with my Samsung SmartThings Hub 3rd Generation [GP-U999SJVLGDA]. Can anyone help me please? They worked fine with my Wink Hub for many years until the Wink Hub stopped working. Thanks for any help in advance…

Here is the Amazon link to the ones I got: https://www.amazon.com/Quirky-Overflow-Smart-Water-Sensor/dp/B00P7RURHW/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

Says “Works with your Wi-Fi network”, so that means it will need some type of integration by the manufacturer with their API, or a custom handler written for it by someone here.

Can you validate it’s WiFi, and not Zigbee protocol. It should be identified on the device somewhere.

Thanks, yes, its advertisement says works with Wi-Fi, however it has a Zigbee device ID, as you can see from this photo:

Cool, that’s good to know. The new app may not do well joining that device, so I’d suggest trying to add that device with the Classic app. If there’s not a device handler for it, it will show up as a “Thing” and then you can go into the IDE and change the “Type” field to other types to see if one of those will work. If none work, then you’ll need a custom one written, or wait for ST to provide support for more Quirky devices.

Please look at this thread

I just edited the code there, and reposted after testing my overflow is working. As said use the clasic app, remove the batteries, insert the batteries with ST in ADD mode and holding that button, once you see a green light release the button. If ST fails to see it try press and holding the button until you see a light.

Make sure you add the device handler before the device.
