Petition for Early Release of Rule Machine to Run Locally

Useless thought it may be, I still voiced my opinion regarding encryption back doors to the white house, and I’ll do the same about something else I care about.

+1 SmartThings. Embrace the power of OSS and free developers. Empower us. Puh-lease!

AYE !!! Indeed!

Absolutely, Positively - AYE!

Aye!
20…-_-

Aye!
Add Rule machine to run locally.

Aye! Let do the right thing for customers and increase our user base!!! This why I moved from IRIS and sold all of my device, is to come to a platform the is open to growth and community development.

Aye !! (20 characters)

Aye!!
Even a basic feature subset of Rule running locally would be a huge improvement for ST.

Another AYE!!!

I agree with this, reliance on an internet connection is silly, needs local hub operation

AYE!

Bump. 20 Chars.

AYE.

Just for cross-reference, a tangential thread has spun in the below Topic that is quite relevant to this “Petition”…

So. Much. AYE!

Pretty please. With sugar on top!

Aye, by all means aye!

I 110% support this idea !!!

if smartthings did a mail and put a poll in that email to all of their users globally, i reckon a majority also would be supportive of the idea, every HA user wants a nice simple rule machine, they should of had one from day dot, instead of relying on community resources.

Anywaysssss, even if they do read this, i wouldn’t hold my breath for them to act upon it . . .

They genuinley dont give a second thought about what any of us Want or Think anymore . . . Its all about releasing new integrations with big brand names to sell more units that will lead to eventually pissing more users off when everything else doesnt work correctly!

They are a shadow of the former brand that once was the mighty SmartThings with a world of scope, now just another generic samsung structured income stream . . .

The only OPEN aspect of SmartThings in 12months will be their hands to accept money, its gone down the pot, we all know it, we just deny it in the hope it will one day fix despite things getting dramticly worse day by day.

AYE ! ! ! {both hands raised}

Any update on this? Sure would be nice if local apps didn’t have to a part of a static firmware build. Could easily just use some sort of repo tool to have the user download packages from the ST server.

For whatever reason, this was not a priority for Smartthings in the runup to the V2 Hub release. Folks from ST have stated that platform stability improvements are the current priority… not expanding local processing.
