The ikea devices are zigbee 3.0 . I don’t believe they work with the Nvidia shield link model, but you can check with support to be sure.
Suddenly the SmartThings Link hasn’t received the FW yet what is required for the IKEA devices. They only work with v2 and v3 Hubs.
Just got the Ikea button recently and paired it to my hub v2. But it’s acting weird. Each time I press the button it will turn on or off all my xiaomi zigbee smart plug. Any idea why it’s doing this?
It is an issue of the group binding.
Try to remove the button, then unplug all the Xiaomi zigbee smart plugs and try to add the remote again.
It would might solve the issue.
Otherwise look at this topic and post:
Only just found this post. Brilliant… Now the Ikea button is properly useful. Thank you very much.
Just found this too. Helped me setup my dimmers for use in smartthings. Awesome!
Tried this, but once I plug Xiaomi’s smart plug back in, they still continue to get controlled by the Ikea button…
@qbasob or @heinoskriver:
Did you get anywhere with this? It would be awesome if we could get release working on the buttons.
Thank you in advance
This is happening to me too. I tried uplugging all the Xiaomi smart plugs during the pairing process, but it still happens once I plug them back in.
Anyone find a solution?
So what’s the current state with these remotes. Are the 2 button and 5 buttons now working as there hasn’t been any activity on this thread for a while. Are all buttons programmable in webcore on a version 2 hub after pairing with the new st app on an android phone in the UK?
I have just about given up on the tradfri square buttons. They are generally hreat for what I wand, BUT, lately some of them have been dying between 1 mth and 3 days with flat batteries. Have tried Sony, Duracell, Ikea, Panasonic batteries. Some of the early dyers are withing sight of the hub and pressed between once and 4 times per day. Also the batteries are dead while ST reports between 87 and 100% charged.
PS my apologies for the poor typing/spellings
Thanks for that Geoffs.
Anyone using the 5 button remotes?
Both works for me
yes, a couple of them with the default DTH. Works great.
Thanks prjct92eh2. That sounds promising. I was on the fence as wether I should get one to try or get all fifteen I need to convert my existing wall switches with these and a 3d printed cover to go over my old switches to allow access to the old switch if required by just popping out the remote.
I can’t for the life of me get the middle button to toggle any lights on or off. Anyone have any luck? I tried so far in ABC smart app, smartlighting app, and regular smartthings automation for middle button press to toggle on/off a set of lights. All the other buttons are programmable.
Hi friends…Im thinking purchase a couple of Ikea 5 buttons device and read 1-2 years ago some troubles to pair it and make it work. But today …Does it pair naturally (no hacking tricks) to ST now in New App? Is it reliable ?. Do I need a DTH to make it work ?
Thanks in advance for share your knowledge and experience…
