This is what I plan on using on a zwave receptacle. Orbit sells both pieces on Amazon for $25.00. My goal is to have someone create a smart app so when my plantlink detects water needed for the lawn it will activate the switch.
Iām interested to see how PlantLink Lush works. They say itās coming soon and includes a solar powered valve that looks similar to the Edyn valve at Home Depot.
As soon as I get to my computer Iāll send the links.
I spoke to them about this and they said itās coming soon along with an Android app and IFTTT
Here are the links. Iām going to screw the valve into my water spigot and then drill a small hole into my house so I can feed the wire through. Then use ST for on/off or timer. I would eventually like to have a smart app to read my Plantlink sensor and activate a zwave switch but Iām going to have to get some help from someone out here with that.
VALVE
POWER SUPPLY
RECEPTACLE
I use these in ground spay heads and they work great!
@mitchp
Thanks for the links!
I just purchased the valve and power supply.
I already have one of these outside:
If I understand what these do, I think I have some different uses for this.
My only concern is that I donāt think the power supply is water proof.

Does it plug directly in to the valve? Or do we have to strip the ends of the power supply and connect to the valve?
The ends of the power supply are cut so you can strip them.
I was going to use the smart lights app and treat switch as a light.
I ended up getting Eve (Spruce) and am going to bite the bullet and install a system. The hose thing got too crazy last year.
Iāve been really curious about Spruce. Might try it one day, but wow those sensors are pricey.
I spoke too soon. PlantLink just announced LUSH with SmartThings listed as a compatible vendor. Their plant sensors which we use are also compatible right in the app.
Decided to ditch the Orbit Sprinkler Timer which i was planning on using to automatically fill my pool. Turned out to be very unreliable, so I grabbed a Zooz Z-Wave Plus Gas/Water Valve Controller. Works really well! Modified (and waterproofed) two Monoprice door sensors with external wires as my high & low water sensorsā¦ which automatically turns on the valve when the ālow levelā sensor is ādryā and shut the valve off when the āhigh levelā sensor is āwetā.
Iām waiting on this as well. Sounds like weāll be waiting through June though. How do you like their current sensor?
The system itself works pretty well. I just moved it off of the plant link hub which was working fine into the smart things hub which was a bit more difficult to get up and running but the range is much greater.
I wish there was some tighter integration with SmartThings as far as what was displayed and push alerts. We will see how it goes since I have only had the sensors paired with the V2 hub for a few days.
I just got spruce (formerly Eve) and am dying to try it out.
And another one, from: www.zilker.co
It is ācoming soon to kickstarterā whatever that means.
