This is not guaranteed to work, because after moving the Xiaomi / Aqara devices into their final location, they may still try to switch over to a repeater with a stronger signal than the hub, and if the repeater isn’t “compatible”, then those Xiaomi / Aqara devices will either drop off the network or exhibit other strange behaviors, such as messages being dropped by the repeater.
The best practice is to simply only use repeaters known to work with Xiaomi / Aqara devices, and pair them in the location where they will “live”, rather than near the hub.
Sengled bulbs do not work as repeaters:
Our Element bulbs were designed to be used as Zigbee end devices only. Our engineers made this distinction as repeaters require constant power, but people still tend to power off their bulbs with wall switches when leaving a room. With no power to the repeater, other end devices may disconnect. The fact that our Element bulbs are not repeaters also ensures that your Zigbee Mesh Network doesn’t become overcrowded, which would delay any user controls.
Aqara / Xiaomi devices have been reported to work with the v3 hub, however the older SmartThings “Classic” mobile app must be used for full functionality and compatibility.
The device handlers for the mains-powered Aqara Zigbee wireless light switches are not available in the repository linked in the first post of this thread. However, other community users have built device handlers, and as I understand it, have had success with getting the no-neutral Aqara Wireless Wall Switch model QBKG03LM working. I suggest reading through this other thread for more information (especially looking at the most recent posts at the end):
Good luck!
